Burrowing Owl
Burrowing owl flying off post to catch a mouse. I photographed him at First People's Buffalo Jump State Park near the north kiosk.

I don't know if you could say he jumps off the post, or he just falls into the air, more like he falls! He's after a mouse he heard rustling in the grain field.

Wings down, Eyes Focused!
He's heading out to catch another mouse so he can feed his family. It's quite a ruckus when he brings them a mouse. He's got several owlettes and they all want the prize.

Burrowing Owl Flying with Mouse
Here you can see a successful hunt. In one evening, this little guy can catch several mice, lots of grasshoppers, some crickets and maybe some other bugs.
