  • Twin Towers Sunset

    Twin Towers Sunset

Driving home from Gibson Dam, I looked back over my shoulder, and saw this amazing sunset behind Sawtooth Ridge.

  • Sunset near Crown Butte

    Sunset near Crown Butte

Driving home on the back roads from Cascade, Mt, we watched this sunset unfold.

  • Deep Winter up the Teton Canyon

Deep Winter up the Teton Canyon

This scene found me when I went walking near Cave Mountain up the Teton Canyon. I was west of Choteau, Montana.

  • Fall Frost

    Fall Frost

I believe I took this photo when we were leaving Benchmark, west of Augusta, Mt.

  • Bent Not Broken

    Bent Not Broken

The skeleton of this old tree is along the canal road, when you are driving from Pishkin to Gibson Dam. It tells such a story of struggle and strife.

  • Looking Toward the Bears Paw Mountains

Looking Toward the Bears Paw Mountains

We came home from viewing elk in rut at the Slippery Ann Viewing area on the Charles Russell National Wildlife Refuge. We decided to wander through the Bears Paw mountains and take the long slow route to return to Vaughn, Mt. This was one of many scenes along the way.

  • Driving Through the Bears Paw Mountains

Driving Through the Bears Paw Mountains

This is another photo we took, while driving home through the Bears Paw Mountains.

  • Late Afternoon in the Bears Paw Mountains

Late Afternoon in the Bears Paw Mountains

This is one of the roads we wanted to travel, but at some point we became lost and ended up on other roads, we wandered around through the mountains until we came out on the other side. We had plenty of provisions, and a camper on the truck, so we did not care how long we were out there roaming.

  • See the Cabin?

    See the Cabin?

There's a small cabin in the back of this photo, nestled against the mountain. A winding road follows the curve of the hill, leading to the cabin. Makes you want to go there....

  • A Natural Bowl of Trees

    A Natural Bowl of Trees

These aspen, nestled down in a perfect little bowl of a valley. They looked so comfortable there. I wanted to go into them and enjoy the feeling they created there.

  • Can you Hear the Crickets Chirp?

Can you Hear the Crickets Chirp?

If you sit very still in a place like this, you hear the crickets, the frogs, and the slap of a beaver's tail. When you leave this place, it stays in your heart forever and you never forget what it was like to sit and listen and enjoy the sounds of nature.

  • Montana Cabin Sunset

    Montana Cabin Sunset

This photo was accepted into the 2016 Montana Outdoors photo issue. I loved the way the blazing sunset said good night to the old cabin.

  • Open Prairie

    Open Prairie

I say all the time, that my husband and I both take these photos even though it is usually me who holds the camera. I say that because he has to put up with me when we're driving along. If I see something like this, with the purple mountain behind the golden prairie, I yell, "Stop!" He's so good natured, he stops as fast as he can and we capture the photo. :) He watches for traffic, and makes sure we stay safe while we're taking photos.

  • Nature's Majesty

    Nature's Majesty

West of Choteau, Montana, the heavens opened, spilling golden light across the land. One second before this happened the earth was dull and grey. You never know when the next photograph is coming your way. It's what I love about doing this.

  • Ice

    Ice

I fell in love with the shape of this ice.

  • Monotone Mountain

    Monotone Mountain

This is a gritty grainy photo of this mountain on a stormy day. You see this mountain when you go from the Teton Canyon road, over to Black Leaf Canyon.

  • Prairie Sunset

    Prairie Sunset

Between Simms and Lincoln, Montana, the sweep of prairie beneath the setting sun is wonderful to see.

  • Sawtooth Ridge

Montana clouds behind a rock hill.

  • Lone Deer on the Rocky Mountain Front

Lone Deer on the Rocky Mountain Front

One lone deer walks toward the Rocky Mountain Front. Sunshine and shadows sweep the prairie.

  • Trees in Falling Snow

    Trees in Falling Snow

We traveled up the Teton Canyon, west of Choteau, Mt, to the silence of new falling snow. The stillness of the forest was magical.
